When we first started delivering hospitality language training, every participant received printed learning materials. It seemed like the obvious choice—students could write notes, highlight important vocabulary, and take the booklet home for future reference.
However, after running multiple training programs, we noticed the same pattern. Many participants left their booklets behind, misplaced them, or simply threw them away once the course had ended. Despite the time and resources invested in creating them, the materials often became short-lived rather than long-term learning tools.
Scolding or criticizing adults for not taking better care of their learning materials isn’t the answer. Instead, we decided to change what we could ourselves.
Rather than printing materials for every class, we now provide all of our training materials as digital e-books through the Fluent Staff app.
In search of solutions, we accidentally built something better.
Learners can access their lessons anytime, anywhere—from their phones while commuting, during work breaks, or whenever they need a quick refresher.
With one simple change, we manage to:
Reduce paper consumption and printing waste.
Keep learning materials accessible at all times.
Ensure students always have the latest version of every lesson.
Encourage continuous learning long after the training has finished.
Will this small change solve global environmental challenges? Certainly not.
But we believe sustainability starts with everyday decisions. By reducing paper waste and embracing digital learning, we’re making a practical choice that benefits both our students and the environment.
As a hospitality language training company, we’re always looking for ways to improve—not only the quality of our courses but also the way we deliver them. Every small step matters, and we hope this is one of many positive changes we’ll continue to make as Fluent Staff grows.
